Hi Vasudivan,

Um, I don't know that car, but isn't it a little extreme to expect an air
filter to filter out the smell of exhaust gases? Unless it's a gas-mask
style carbon filter. 

If it is and it should filter out smells of exhaust gas, then I suppose you
need a new one...
