Fitting a Getrag 265 Where a 260/6 Was

Okay here's my dilemma - I eventually want to 
covert my E3 from a Borg-W auto slushbox to a 265 
Getrag 5spd. My 1986 5 spd Getrag 260/6 has a bent 
shifter fork in it an won't go into 5th gear. I was 
thinking about buying the Getrag 265 and using it 
in the '86 while the 260/6 is being rebuilt. Later, 
I intend to put the 265 into the E3 using the auto
drive shaft.

Does anyone know the difference in length of the
260/6 verses 265? 

Will I have to get a drive-shaft 
along with the Getrag 265?

Are there other compatibility problems?
