CRC stands for cyclic redundancy check and is an electronic measurement to
find out if data is correct. It is transparent to the user and implies a
mathematical/statistical procedure to compare the previously entered "CRC"
results with what has just been read. If they don't match, the "system" knows
the data has been corrupted and defaults to a error handling plan (whatever
that may be in a Beemer)....
