1) pull knobs off to reveal two screws

2) remove screws and carefully pry off panel

3) replace bulb

4) (optional) use air duster to clean off interior temp sensor

5) reassemble

the bulb is the same (wedge base) as the ones used to illuminate the
ashtrays/headlight switch/instrument panel.  an osram/sylvania dealer who
carries a #2721 bulb will probably be cheaper than the dealer.
