<MFD>Filters aren't enough (+E30 OBC tip)

First, Thanks to those of you who have been able to continue to contribute
throughout the past month - you set a model example.

Despite best attempts at filtering regular expressions and living with the
digest, I too would like to see a MFD.

for you E30 owners with OBC, you can rotate through the OBC modes (time,
date, mpg, temp, etc.) by pushing in (toward the steering column) on your
turn signal stalk. (there's an arrow on the stalk indicating the direction
to push).  This is much nicer than leaning over and poking at the keypad
interface.
