Umm, MKIAN, sorry to rain in your anti Mark thing here, but VaNoS (proper
way to spell it) does not increase the air velocity of the incoming air in
order to produce more power, VaNoS simply modified cam timing (on the intake
of most cars, on both intake and exhaust on the Euro M3 and M52TU engines)
to suit the RPM.
Porsche has something similar called VaroCam (or something to that effect)
and Honda also has the V-Tech thing (I am sure you have scene those
stickers).  Porsche also has a variable intake length technology (I forgot
the name of the thing) that modifies intake length (and hence velocity) in
order to produce more power at specific RPMs... Then again, I might not have
a clue what I am talking about since I don't have 3 PhDs in these sorts of
things...
