Re: Squeaky Brakes

Howdy,
My mate IS a brake mechanic (Brakes Plus here in AU) and He
said that Rotors will never need to be broken in however the PADS do. Treat
them VERY easily for about 500 - 1500 KMS (250 - 750 mile) to 'bed' them in.
If this does NOT occur, then you've 'fried' your pads which will require a
quick fix of emery paper, and some silicone based good behind the pad to
stop the squeeling. Because what happens (to the best of my knowledge -
which isn't much, im only saying what my mate said), if you fade the brakes
out early, the pads aren't used to this type of treatment and just heat up
and 'fry' so to speak.
But you're right, ROTORS arn't what makes your brakes squeel.

cheers.
                Aaron
