E34 Seat Movement

I have a '95 530 with 35k miles.  When the seat is raised at all, it
rocks back and forth.  Depending on the angle of the seat bottom, it
seems to rock up to 1 inch back/forth.  The cars is still under
warranty, but the dealer is saying this is "normal".  They talk about
all of the pivots in the seat and how they all wear a little bit...Any
advice?  Will BMWNA say that this is normal?
