<E36> 235/45-17 fitment

Since the Tire Rack is selling the Yokohama Nexus in 235/45-17 size
for $107 ea. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this
size.  Stock size on the 328i is 205/60-15 with a diameter of 25.63".
The diameter of the 235/45-17 tires should be 25.33" (smaller than stock
15").  The tire rack is unwilling to guarantee that these tires mounted
on a 17x8 rim will fit saying that the M3 uses 235/40-17 and the 45
series tires "could" rub.  So can anyone who has actually used this size
on his E36 M3/325 share his/her experiences?  TIA
