Stinky Trans Oil

David,

This made me chuckle. I remember back in the late 60's / early 70's when I
was a mere pup and worked at a Yamaha Dealer as a apprentice mechanic
(anyone remember the old DT-1B?). At that time the Japanese were using
some form of FISH OIL derivative in the lower case on their 2-Stokes.
During the first 500 mile service we'd haveta drain the crankcase oil out
and that had to be the most gawd-awful smelling stuff you could ever put in
an engine.

And if you got it on your hands/clothes (and this was inevitable) you
smelled to high heaven for the rest of the day. Upside? It was real easy to
get a seat at the counter of the local eatry though at lunchtime. Even your
hamburger would taste like dead Japanese fish in a petroleum base.
Ewwwwwwwwwwww....
