Lets check out the E46 shift levers

I'm still looking for the current part # for the M3-328 shift lever. The
more I look, the less important finding this out becomes. I ordered the E46
323 and 328 shift levers to see what they look like. The 323 one doesn't
offer much. The 328 one is interesting though. Its shaft length below the
pivot point is ~ .054" longer than the M3-328 shift lever. For the ti, this
may be the shift lever, if keeping the selector rod pins in line is important
to you. It should also give you a little more short shift. It retails for
$45.75. When using the M3-328 lever in a ti the selector rod pins are ~ .054
inch out of line. Keep in mind that the stock pin delta on a ti is ~ .625
inch. With the E46 328 lever they would be in line. The E46 328 shift lever
is
~ 3/16 inch taller than the stock lever. This lever is also bent rearward ~
1/8 inch more. I'll install this lever in someone's ti (maybe mine), check it
out, and add the results to my comparison chart. For a dimensioned look see
