Unintended audi acceleration

There was a REAL occurance(now it comes back) of acceleration is that 71 Audi 100.

It occurred when one of the throttle springs broke, sucking my accel pedal to the
floor.
Seems they had sort of a compensating spring arrangement on the throttle. One to
bring the
pedal back and one to put it down. When the first spring broke, the latter spring
kicked in.
Not a pretty situation.
