V1 and Stealth mounting....

I've heard people mounting their Valentine 1 systems in the 3rd
brakelight compartment and running the remote display, but are there any
down sides to this mounting (Besides loss of laser detection?)  ie.
Plastic brake housing reducing range and sensitivity, spoiler reducing
rear range, etc.?

Are there any instructions on how to do this online (running the wires
to the front, and mounting in the 3rd brake light, etc...)
