I'm sorry about the possible disinformation.  I have an E30 but am in the
learning stages of that car.  I was talking about the E28 with the lock
heaters and stuff.  The E36 has constant heat on the mirrors these days. 
They re-design all the time.  Oh well.  The fact remains it's getting
cold here.
