E36 Thermostats - Are there different heat ranges available?

I have a '92 M50 engine which I would like to put a colder thermostat
into.  Does BMW offer a thermostat that opens at a lower temp
than standard?

Second question:  can you replace the thermostat w/o removing the
fan clutch?  I ask because I have to remove the radiator to remove
the fan clutch (M50 is tight fit in an E30).  If I have to remove
the radiator I will go ahead and replace the water pump as well.
