John, it's too bad you've had such an experience. I bought a new '95 325i from the
dealer here in Columbia, SC, and was treated like royalty (at least, compared to my
previous buying experiences at Mazda and Volvo). Two years later, I was looking for
an M3 - they wouldn't deal on price so I bought one in Dallas. However, I have it
serviced at the same dealership - they continue to be good as gold to me, the service
rep as well as the person who sold me the first car. I don't know how I could be
more satisfied with a dealership. Sure, they are expensive but the work has been
done accurately and on time. I always get a loaner as well as a completely clean
car. I hope your, and not my, experience is the exception.
