E34 wood panel removal

Donald

Actually the whole wood panel comes up. Get a long, thin blunt tipped
object and pop it up from underneath. Do it from the front most portion by
sliding your tool of choice between the tranny hump and the plastic center
console. There is heater ducting in there, so you have to be sure you are
pushing up on the actual wood panel. Once it starts to come up, it pops
right out.

Oh yeah, you have to take the T handle shifter off with a small allen
wrench. All in all it's pretty easy.

BTW, to polish the wood panel, try Birchwood Casey gun stock polishing
compound. It works great and will make the finish better than new. You
can get the stuff at any decent gun shop.

Hope this helps...
