I want to thank John Fountaine for his lucid and gracious response.

Listen guys, no one should be slamming "cops" since almost all of them are
great people and total pros.

I was speeding on the Blue Ridge Parkway last summer, and a trooper caught
me with his radar.

"Oops, I said, I'm sorry sir, I wasn't paying attention to my speed."

He ran my plates,  registration, and license, and let me go with a warning.
I drove more carefully the rest of the trip, (which is the whole point
innit?)

Pays to be nice, when YOU have broken the law doesn't it?

If you want to be "Joe Rebel" and hate authority, go start a glam band and
wear a dress.

If you break the law on the highway, if you use the HOV lanes w/o enough
people in the car, if, in general, YOU do something stupid, pay your dang
fine and shutup.

Act like an adult.
