Bradley is correct on this.  To do this properly you need to do a
baseline test (first run).  Then as you perform follow on tests you'll
develop a history and will be able to see if things go foul.  I can point
you to an independent lab that specializes in gas engine oil analysis. 
Pretty reasonable too at about $12-18 per test.
