E30 turning signals

Digesters,
                    My new (for me anyway) E30 won't automatically turn off
the indicators when turning right, I even do a U-turn but to no avail, the
indicator doesn't 'flick' off :-(.  The left hand side works fine, its just
the right.  Thought . . .. suggestions?
