Driving up Hwy road behind a mint E30 318is (with some mods eg DTM style
stainless exhaust, looked awesome, 17in wheels and who knows what other
stuff) We approached an intersection and to my delilght the lights
turned red. Race was on. He even had an M badge too, worth a few horses
i know :)
Huge smile on my face, lights turn green and we were off, wheels
spinning. He spun his wheels going into 2nd gear, not me tho! hmmm.
Suprise suprise, i beat the guy fair and sqaure, all the way up to
100kms/ph when i backed off and he sailed ahead, but i claimed victory.
My cooking 4 door E30 1984 318i (with 2 litre 8 valve) had beaten the
car i was planning to acquire in the near future, like in 3 months.
Looks like i should consider an E30 325is instead, although i was
planning on supercharging the 318is when i got it, gives 160+kw.
Anyway, just thought id share that, the little race made my day and im
still smiling after

P.S. clutch prob i had B4 was an oil soaked clutch plate. I now have new
seals and clutch
