brake upgrade for E30

Does anyone know a good tip of how to make the brakes of my 325es get a good
grip on the road?
I changed the brake master cylinder not too long ago....bleed it ...
still it doesn't feel it grips....i have new pads too...
Do I need to change brake pads or get a caliper rebuild? 
Any calipers from another bmw series that would fit my E30 that will bite real
good...it doesn't have to be like a brembo....just enough that when pressed
immediately...it will stop...i have an ATE stock calipers in mine...
