I had a similar problem with my '95 M3 about a month ago. Under
semi-hard acceleration, it would pop out of 2nd and 5th gear. I took it
to the dealer and they said the synchros went bad. They replaced the
whole transmission with new mounts under warranty. Hope that helps.
