<M42> Profile Gasket strikes again

Well, exactly six years to the day I bought my (first...and maybe last)
BMW, it looks like the infamous M42 profile gasket in my car has taken a
crap at 64,8xx miles.

Came out from the store to find a nice puddle/slick under the car and
coolant dripping from the mid/right side of the engine bay above the
steering rack. Thankfully, it didn't let go as I was zooming down the road.

Seems as if my fastidious maintenance and annual (BMW brand) coolant
changes didn't pay off one bit in terms of forestalling the inevitable
failure.

At this point, I'm going to take it to my local (Peter Pan) dealer and see
what happens. I'm pessimistic as to the response I'll get from the dealer
and BMW NA as far as compensation goes.

With the common labor involved, I'm going to have them replace the
thermostat, water pump, and radiator hoses too. Can anyone suggest
anything else?

I'm also open to any pointers and experiences other people have had in
general in trying to get this repair done.

TIA,
Herman
