VINs and car histories

I am looking into a '91 M3 with 42,000 miles on it that looks
incredible, so I ran its VIN through carfax.com and am worried about
something I found there about it being auctioned.  Does anyone here
know about this stuff who could look at the report for me and tell me
if I should be worried or not?
