Fellow Enthusiasts,
Need some sage advise. I've recently assembled my injection system,
which had been apart for many years only to find to cylinders getting no
fuel. After several evenings of switching injectors, suction valves,
and delivery valves I've determined the problem is the injection pump
along with one bad suction valve.
Condition of the other components: thottle body - shaft end play - 2mm,
plastic intake runners - several are cracked on one end, linkage - worn
but liveable for now, new plastic fuel line (needed to test the system).
It runs well on 2 or 3 cylinders at 1000+ rpm.
Car is a '72 - date on pump is '71
I would appreciate any additional info/advise on the following:
1. K-pump rebuilders name / phone #
2. any used pump sources
3. switching to a 318i L-jetronic injection system (which I also have in
working condition but needs some troubleshooting also) Interested in
the performance on the tii engine - will I still get 130 hp?
I may hold off until next spring to make any final decisions, but any
help is greatly appreciated.
