Hi all - I asked this question on alt.autos.bmw and talked to two
dealers and got three different responses.
Thought I'd try here and see if anyone knows for sure.
I've ordered a '99 323i with the sport package, and I'm curious
what alloy wheels it will come with.
The brochure shows nearly all permutations -- *except* for the 323i w/sport.
I've scanned in the relevent page from the brochure and oploaded it here:
http://www.theFixx.org/bmw/E46
They show:
323 15" stock w/wheel covers (extremely ugly, I might add)
323 15" alloy (optional or with the premium package)
323 16" alloy (upgraded premium package)
328 16" alloy (standard)
328 17" alloy (sport package)
but NOT the 323i sport package, which is what I've just bought!
I asked two dealers and the net, here's what I've heard back:
Dealer 1: 323i sport will be identical to the 328i standard
(style 42 - cross spoke)
Dealer 2: 323i sport will be identical to 323i premium
Net opinion 1: 323i sport will be identical to 328i sport but 1" smaller
(says his source is bmwcca)
Net opinion 2: 323i sport might be 5 spoke wheel as seen in
Roundel article (April) and European Car (May?)
So, does anyone know for sure? Anyone have a dealer contact that knows
what their talking about? (-:
I know this really isn't important, but with 2-3 months to wait before the
car arrives, I might as well obsess about something. (-:
thanks,
jeff
