Discrimination in general

One of my favorite stories in this area took place in the early
80s; one of my coworkers who was, well, rather eccentric in
appearance and behavior decided he wanted a new Peugeot. He
went to the dealer and was summarily ignored and treated like
dirt by a salesgeek, who assumed he was a flake. He went back
the next day, picked another salesgeek at random and paid
CASH for the car right in front of the first salesgeek.
