     Alex,
     
     The first number is the width of the tire in millimeters, measured 
     from sidewall to sidewall.  The second number is the aspect ration, or 
     the ratio of the sidewall height to the width.  in the example you 
     give, the sidewall is 70% the width, or 205*.7=143.5mm.  THe alst 
     number is the wheel diameter that the tire fits on.  R=radial bias.
     
     Generally, sportier tires have a smaller aspect ratio, shorter 
     sidewall, wider tire e.g. 245/50 16.

Can someone explain what this numbers mean on a tire? 
205/70r14
I know that the number after the r is the rim size.  I would like to know 
what the tire differ when the numbers are different.
