 Subject: Carbon Fiber

Why is carbon fiber trim used in production cars? It looks boss. BTW,
BMW used real carbon fiber in the M3 LWT. Not for any weight savings,
 but because it looked boss.

'Word from Europe is that many tuners/manufacturers think the carbon fiber
trend is past....they are now moving onto titanium. This should up the
 stakes a bit.

The Europeans are also going crazy for really big brake kits. Movit, the
company selling the 993tt brakes which I distribute here in the US, its
getting many folks opting for even larger calipers, pads and rotors....the
380mm GT2 brakes. Folks are coming in with 18-20" wheels on 750i's, Vipers
and Corvettes and putting these brakes on their cars. Kit prices start
 around $6k (front only). SD
