<E30 iX> help! WTB steering wheel - will it fit?

hello everyone,

i asked this once already but haven't gotten a response yet so here it goes
again:

i want to buy a steering wheel from an '89 M3 for my '89 iX but i want to
make sure it fits.  does anyone know if it will?  also, i want to know the
difference in diameter if there is one.  is there a FAQ which can answer
these questions?  thanks greatly in advance.
