<E30 iX> steering wheel and shock mounts

hello franklin and everyone,

i am interested in this steering wheel for my 89 iX but i am wondering if it
will fit.  is the diameter the same as the stock one from this car?  does
anyone know?  for those who do not recall, the steering wheel for sale is
from an 89 M3.  i am also looking at replacing the upper shock mounts in the
rear and would like to know if this is a DIY job.  do i need any special
tools or is there alot of things in the way requiring removal?  i remember
reading here that it is better to replace them with the mounts from the
convertible as these are a beefier design.  true?  all help is much
appreciated.  thanks.
