With my old 535is, the problem was the Main relay. The car would stall at
random, sometimes while I was rolling along at lower speeds.

One easy test, with the engine running, tap on the main or fuel pump relay
with the handle of a screwdriver. If the car stalls bingo!

The relays are about $20 a piece, and I would replace them at around 100K
regardless.
