<02> I See the light!

Hey all,
	A while back I replaced the cap to the brake fluid reservoir on my '76
2002 (the old one was cracked and leaking air) I had to go to the dealer
and the cap he sold me doesn't have the sender for the brake fluid pressure
light (he said "according to the 'puter that there's the right part").
Anyway since then the brake light on the dash occasionally flickers, but
lately it has been on almost all the time. I checked the fluid (I've got
plenty) and have looked around for leaks and found none, also the brakes
and clutch feel fine. I have noticed however than when I push in the clutch
the brake light goes off.
	Is something wrong? Is there some way I can get the light on the dash to
actually be useful again?
