Whether Rack and Pinion is more sensitive or not than Worm and Roller or
Recirculating Ball, I can't say.  But R&P is generally acknowledged to be
the simplest, reasonably compact, and most direct connection of steering
wheel to tires.  You turn the wheel, wheel rolls stationary gear on rack,
rack moves steering linkage.  Maybe it's the back and forth motion.  Why
larger cars tend not to use it, don't know.  Design load limit?
