<E36> battery acid leak...HELP

hi.  i posted a letter a few days ago regarding this problem but no one
responded.  i took the car to the dealer and the service advisor said he
had never heard of the problem.  the problem that i am having is that
battery acid is leaking out of the overflow tube (underneath the car) and
the airflow underneath the car is causing the acid to deposit on the rear
bumper and trunk area.  the dealer is checking with bmw to see if this may
be a common problem.  if anyone has had this problem can you please e-mail
me asap.  thanks for the bandwidth.
