JC Chip compatability

Hello digesters.

I have come across an original JC Chip currently in an 89 525i that is for
sale. Does anyone out there know for certain whether the chip will fit and
work in '90 525i. (Jim of course would know. If he can repsond , thank you)
I know that there was a production change in the E34 around Feb 90 that
might make a difference. Are the Motronic units the same ? I think but am
not certain but the DME locations are different in the two vehicles which
might suggest a different box and configuration, version etc.

Clarification greatly appreciated.
