<E28><E24> re:Sway Bars

Pete Read posted lots of stuff on sway bars but the thing
that caught my eye was:
>Now, if you want to calculate the actual rate or have adjustable
>sway bars (several adjustment holes to change length of lever arm)
>and want to figure out the rate increase, you'll need to measure
>the bar and use a formula (from Fred Puhn's "How to Make Your Car
>Handle")...

I bought the book a little while ago (on impulse.. was browsing the local
mega-book-store (automotive section of course) and saw the book, price was
cheap ( < $15?))

It is excellent!

tons of info and pretty easy to understand (lots of pictures, diagrams, etc)
with not only HOW things work but how to sensibly modify things.

It has simple formulas and explanations, as well as techniques for figuring
out *what* needs to be changed to improve handling
(ie your car does *this* so try adjusting *that* and watch out for *the other*)

Everything from tires to sway bars, springs, weight, etc etc.

A very useful book to read before throwing money at the car to 'improve' it.
