Andrew, and all :
I will. Generally I see this on trucks, however, Most recently I
witnessed a helluva rear-end collision on my way back to boston from
Lime Rock on the Mass Pike, Westbound around Framingham. The 'victim' was
a lowered taxicab yellow Volvo sedan with blacked out lights all around as
well as darkly tinted windows. I had gotten out from behind it when I
realized that I couldn't see his brakelights AT ALL. Apparently someone
else didn't either.

I wonder if the Volvo driver will replace those blackout covers with the
settlement s/he gets from the poor guy's insurance company.
