<E34 M5> 6 speed gearbox

Hi,
I have a 5 speed '92 M5 3.8L, this model later had a 6 speed box.
Has anybody ever converted their 5 speed to the 6 speed 'box?
Is it a direct replacement?
How much higher is the 6th gear over the 5th?
Is the final drive ratio the same for the 6 speed cars?
Anybody in Europe know where to get a good used 6 speed 'box?
