E36 OBC Upgrade

I have a 94 325I with the step down model for an OBC. This is not the basic
unit but just gives you the Temp,Time,Date,system check and reminder.The
connector in the back of the OBC has 18 wires in it now.  Is the wiring
already in the car for the full trip computer? I have a line on a new unit
and before I buy I would like to know if it will just plug in or will I have
to add wiring and sensors, which I am not about to do.
