re: re- nervous

I want to thank those who replied to my 'nervous' post
regarding a possible engine change for the y2000 328i..

However, for those who commented on the inherent
smoothness of an I-6 compared to a V-6--- well, I suggest
you don't test ride a Camry V-6 or a Maxima (or an I30).
We've owned both, along with three BMW 6's. I fail
to see how the BMW six is smoother than those two.

And although I'm considering the new 328i, there are a few
real disappointments:

     1. The power driver's seat bottom can no longer be
adjusted for tilt. To me, the fixed angle seems
          too level.
     2. The cup holders have the appearance of not only
being able to hold your soda can, but to crush and
dispose of it as well-- way over done.
     3. The steering is not as sharp as my 325i's. There's
          some noticeable on-center sloppiness.
     4. The instrument pod in just plain ugly-- a little bubble
like those in many Japanese compacts.
     5. And, unbelievably, the radio sounds as papery and
          as crummy as ever!
