<FS> 1988 535is



1988 535is, 115k, Red/Perlbeige...Mechanical--A.  Cosmetic--C.  It gets a C
because it has a couple of parking lot dings, no front spoiler and the
paint is a little tired.  A frugal respray and some dent removal and it
would look primo!  Only appearance Mod would be tinted windows (quite
helpful in the Tejas sun)

New parts since August '97 (in order more or less):

Clutch, clutch slave, clutch master
Tranny Seals
Pedal bracket
Brake Bomb
Oil pressure sensor
Hot Water Valve
Thrust arms with 750 bushings
Driveshaft with center bearing
Replaced TRX wheels and tires with Fittipaldi 5-spoke 15" wheels and Dunlop
D40 M2's (rears are getting a little thin)
Front rotors and pads
A/C expansion valve and drier (blows muy frio, even in the heat wave)

Sound system is premium BMW with Pioneer cassette deck/CD controller and
has a 6-CD changer installed under rear seat.  It's accessible from the
driver's seat by just reaching back and flipping up a flap of carpet under
the front of the rear seat.  Nifty!

Recent work includes:
flush and refill of brake and cooling system.  Removal and steam clean of
radiator and condensor. Just had head rebuilt last week. ($$$)  Complete
inspection and checkover of car by excellent Dallas BMW specialist
whereupon car was pronounced sound.  No rust, all electrics work, tie-rods
and suspension OK, etc.

Car is therefore EXCELLENT mechanically with only its minor cosmetic flaws
keeping it from being a peach.

I'm only selling it to re-allocate some resources into other things (flying
lessons, a nice truck for new wife, etc.)

I'd be happy with $6000.  Car is in Dallas.
