The front fenders on a 2002 are soldered to the front grill support at the
top of the grills by the factory. If yours are welded then someone replaced
these parts, and welded vs soldering them together. the original solder
joint is right above the ouer quadrant of the headlight, and likely has
some filler also. This would be vertically in line with the lower joint
between the fender and the center section , which is bolted inside the fender.
I would not attempt to rmove the entire clip as one piece, as you would
likely damage the fenders andd front valance / rediator support.  The
radiator support , front valanace grill support is a unit assembly , and is
welded to thr frame rails and inner fender wells, and will need to
separated by drilling out spot welds, or cutting at the joints.
