Brake Fluid Testing

i think that if i were doing a lot of track events, i'd be very wary of it.
when you are really and truly cooking your brakes, the fluid in the
calipers goes south long before the rest of it. checking the condition of
the fluid in the resevoir is unlikely to be helpful in finding out what is
going on in the calipers.

for normal, street driven cars, this thing is probably fine.

Richard...this is a great point that the tool manufacturers fail to point
out. There are also more elaborate tools that pull a sample of fluid from
the brake system (these companies show the fluid being taken from the
reservoir but you could also take a sample from one of the front calipers)
for testing...they are battery operated, bring the fluid to a boil and give
a digital readout of the boiling point. SD
