While someone may have already covered this and I missed it (sorry for
taking up the bandwidth), the VOV is for CCOT A/C systems (cycling
clutch-orifice tube systems).  CCOT systems are typically found on vehicles
produced by the Big 3.

BMW does not produce CCOT systems so BMW owners cannot use the VOV
(Variable Orifice Valve).  The only expansion device option on BMWs is the
OE expansion block valve.  BMWs typically use valves produced by a company
by the name of Egelhof.
