<ALL> VIN # History from BMW AG/NA??

Hi All,

I just had this pop into my head in a discussion with a friend...but how
can I check the VIN of a BMW with the "official" papers at BMW AG/NA? do
you just write a letter, for confirmation of some sort. Do you get any
description from them about the VIN # and Engine S/N that went into the
car? Has anyone out there done anything of that sort to get "official"
confirmation from BMW NA/AG?

Any help appreciated.

BTW, I *did* decipher my VIN so that's not the problem  :-)
