Rion,
Well when you look down your nose, who do you see?
I believe I'm speaking for the mass majority of the folks here who occupy
this bandwidth. If not for them, please bend your royal ear to these words
of mine. Some individuals who own BMW's are tremenduous more loyal to the
marque than I would say you are. I bought my first BMW at the age of
sixteen. Within a couple of years, I knew that car intimately, I rarely
feared tearing into any part or aspect of that car- a '75 530i sn 5000871-
and I knew that when I took it apart, I was working with quality parts who
were put together in the sense that they would be rebuilt. My German
heritage bred respect for the people who put this auto together. You may
be thinking "oh, pleeeez", but you have missed the point of how we feel
about a car we have a tremenduous respect for. It is a pure joy to work on
a BMW- well not when you're trying to bolt up a turbo on a 745i- but for
the most part, the vast majority of us, work on these cars because we WANT
TO, YOU MORON. It isn't necessarily so that we can't afford the marque.
You reveal much about yourself, obviously you do not appreciate the
REWARDS of taking something that needs repair- tearing it down,
UNDERSTANDING and LEARNING WHY it runs and operates like it does- the
engineering that went into it- or sometimes the lack thereof- and the
sheer joy of once again hitting the track, your favorite twisty-curvy, or
just feeling the joy on the way to work. Perhaps you should spend more
time with the local boys(and girls) down at the local BMWCCA chapter or
other BMW club. You will find people who BELIEVE in living they way they
talk, proudfully of their BMW, no matter what make or model, age or
beauty. No, I do not own the latest BMW, nor do I particularly want to. It
is a shame, however, that you could not "concede" to lend an experienced
mind and advice.
I agree, sometimes the best place for some folks' auto is under the care
of a qualified professional- and yes, some do spend quite a few dollars to
find a problem- but they gain experience and knowledge, did anybody
complain to you? Can everybody take note NOT to complain to Mr. Rion Groh?
Thankyou.
Meanwhile, you knocked some pretty good products, at least half a dozen
reputable sources say so, not to mention millions of happy users- do you
not get the idea?- perhaps it is your thinking that needs some
adjustment.
On the other hand, I need to crawl back under the dash of this 735i with a
HVAC problem. I still have a weakness as far as electronics, but with some
money, some guts, some time, and a lot of damn good, well, damn good
intentioned, advice from some of my excellent friends here on this forum,
I'll solve my problem. But when I walk away I'll take something with me I
didn't have before, a smile way, way deep down inside. But, I don't think
you could quite grasp the concept...
