Paul:
I saw an E30 M3 at the recent NASA event at Laguna with 17" rims. He had
17x8 15mm offset Racing Dynamics wheels. Tire Rack does not carry RD. I
forget the exact tire size, but I think they were 235/40/17. The car was
lowered slightly, had some camber plates in the front, and had a modified
rear fender lip. The camber plates in the front moved the top of the
front tire in enough to clear the fender lip. I think he ran about 2.5
degrees. If you want more details, I can call the guy.
I want to ru my E30 M3 in stock class of the club racing, so the camber
plates are not an option.
He recommended cutting the rear fender lip, not rolling. I have heard
elsewhere that this is bad because the spot welds in the fender lip hold
the fender in place. I plan to consult someone like B-Line before I take
implements to sheet metal.
