Has anybody used the 2002 adjustable cam sprocket offerred by Bavarian
Rennesport? There catalogue indicates that this is particularly useful
for engines that have had heads milled and/or block decks resurfaced.
What is the principal of the adjustable sprocket on a SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM
engine like the 02? I can understand varying the intake/exhaust timing on
a DOHC engince, but this relationship would seem to be "fixed" on a SOHC?
How is the timing variability acheived from distributor rotation different
from that acheived by an adjustable sprocket? I've always assumed that as
long as you can set timing based on the steel ball on the flywheel that the
timing would be correct.
Could somebody please explain what +/- of this modification on a 2002?
Thx,
Jonathan
